Founded in 2017 by Nadia Imperio, KronicoKab (Kab for Kabarett) is an indipendent puppet theatre company interested in studying puppetry in all its forms and particularly interested in string puppets. From the beginning, the expressive potentialities of marionettes have been explored along with the spread of the puppet genre in Sardinia where traditions aren’t strong enough for this theatrical form to be recognized as an art able to convey ideas, feelings, visions of the world and to produce a change. KronicoKab is a minuscule theatrical organism at the beginning of its path and, like many others, observes the world from the inside, tries to interpret it, to re-elaborate it on the stage. It addresses each time to adult or child audience or both. KronicoKab is openly feminist in its principles, aware of the complexity that lies behind this word.

Blog on our puppet adventures, tours, news, comments, curiosities on the puppet world. You can read posts about us, the “ARTISTS AND COMPANIES TO KNOW" section, where several living artists’ work is highlighted and “A BIT OF HISTORY’, with links to some of the great ‘900 artists that are no longer among us. Puppet theatre (teatro di figura, titeres, théâtre de marionnettes, papuși, lutke, kukla and hundreds of other languages) is a multi millennial treasure chest, with a powerful expressive potential: nearly every object and an unlimited variety of materials may become “figures” and tell something about us, talk to us here, today, adult or child humankind.
KronicoKab organizes workshops and courses - whose duration may vary - in schools, libraries, private and public cultural institutions. Using the game of theatre, participants enter the world of puppets discovering its potentiality through the techniques, languages and materials each time concerning that specific project.Enter
StanzeBottega K, launched in January 2022, is a creative space suitable for rehearsals, workshops and live events whose first function is promoting and making puppet theatre popular, as it’s underestimated and very little studied and practised in Sardinia, especially in the Northern part of the island.
Throughout the year - among all scheduled activities in festivals, theatres and schools - performing events and short workshops are organized, as well as concerts for small audiences and preferably acoustic, followed by convivial evenings.
